Well it’s time for my next show! But… how do I read the Judging Program Entry?
I entered and received my entry in the mail (confirming I’m entered) cause last time I accident cancelled the show. Ooops. Remember AKC Dog Show rules are STRICT. You have to enter weeks in advance and no entering after closing.
Q:
So I know my ring, my time, but what do the dashed numbers and parenthesis on the dog entry mean?
A:
Males vs Females as those are the classes we show in. Age groups (as I’m in the 6-9mo. old class) aren’t known until the show premium at the show when you look up your arm band number.
Let’s look at my example:
9 Labrador Retriever 1-7-(1-0)
That means:
9 Labs entered in the show
1 Male
7 Females
The Parenthesis means Champions that are showing.
1 Male Championship
0 Female Champions
Sometimes you’ll even see:
19 Labrador Retriever 7-9-1VD-(2-0)
The VD Stands for the Veteran class.
